About the Role:

As a Credit Specialist, you will be responsible for the effective management of the credit function, ensuring Company policies, guidelines, and strategies are consistently followed, while balancing responsiveness to customer needs and expectations. This role is accountable for the end-to-end credit granting process, including the consistent application of credit policies, periodic reviews of existing customers, assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, and evaluation of credit risk for accounts that fall outside standard credit guidelines.

In addition, this is a highly hands-on role within a lean team and organisation. You will be expected to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and continuously improve credit processes in line with executive management guidelines and in partnership with other departments, including Sales, Operations, and Customer Service.

The role also requires a proactive approach to driving automation, implementing process improvements, and resolving issues effectively.

Qualifications

  • Three years within the credit/collections field; or equivalent experience
  • Certified credit professional accreditation is a plus (CCE, CBA, CBF, CCRA, CICP, CCP)
  • Proven ability and understanding of effective credit risk analysis
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing Proficient in Microsoft Office and technology applications experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills are required
  • Ability to work in a team environment in making business decisions and implementing process

Responsibilities

  • Determines credit worthiness of new or existing customers
  • Analyzes and assesses credit and collection issues falling outside Company policies and guidelines and determines course of action for resolution
  • Reviews of orders to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders and service expectations
  • Develop effective relationships with internal and external customers to understand their process, key players and how to work efficiently within their system for managing credit risk exposure
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including those of assigned staff
  • Check VAT registrations and apply correct VAT for all new customers.
