Position Summary:  

The Logistics Operative will contribute to the success of Electro Rent through the quality, productivity and technical expertise provided to customers and colleagues. This role will process all outgoing orders for customers, other shipments and receive and process incoming deliveries in timely and accurate manner according to the company policies. Cleaning, basic check and completion of incoming equipment, support other departments and fulfil other tasks or projects when assigned. 

 

  • QUALITY & PRODUCTIVITY – ensure a high level of quality and productivity 
  • ORDER PREPARATION – on-time delivery of orders to a satisfactory quality and presentation level that meets the company’s and customers’ expectations 
  • HANDLING SPECIALS – ensure we deliver all customer special instructions 
  • EQUIPMENT – prepare equipment for the lab, maintain parts stock 
  • PROCESSES - Maintain and update our quality, safety, and process procedures. Responsible for well documented and clear notifications to customer support

  • Have good communication skills and straight forward attitude

  • Precise quality-oriented warehouse or stock related work with the appropriate planning, organization, documentation and administration responsibilities; part of a team structure 

 

*This position will be required to be onsite at our Harrow facility  

 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job 
  • Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods.  This role will typically work 37.5 hours per week with additional work time as needed 
  • Communicate effectively, both oral and written 
  • Move around and through all work areas as needed, may include climbing stairs or ladders 
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 kilos 
  • Regularly sit at the assigned workstation 
  • Use keyboard or equivalent equipment, to access the computer 
  • Use hands to manipulate documents and general paperwork to view contents 
  • Read documents, reports, files etc. 
  • Communicate effectively using the telephone and email

Responsibilities

  • Follow, develop and maintain procedures, flowcharts, work instructions and skills/training matrix 
  • Ensure health & safety standards are maintained 
  • Ensure all outgoing and incoming shipments are processed accurately and in time, responsible for the last quality and “presentable” check before an order ships to the customer 
  • Always keep the work area clean and customer presentable and make sure tools and machines are maintained 
  • Ensuring satisfactory levels of quality and maximum levels of productivity are maintained and in balance 
  • Prioritise/allocate workload and customer responses, organised and in a team 
  • Flexibility to work additional hours in the warehouse, on-site with customers or in one of our European Operations 
  • Responsible for basic incoming check, cleaning, completion and notification and documentation of damages and missing parts of incoming equipment 
  • Maintain stock of warehouse supplies and equipment parts
